A private jet crash on a Malaysian highway has resulted in a tragic loss of at least 10 lives, with eight passengers on the aircraft and two motorists on the ground losing their lives.
The impact caused a massive explosion, engulfing the scene in flames and thick black smoke. The private jet was en route from Langkawi island to Selangor, west of Kuala Lumpur.
The plane, a Beechcraft Model 390, had lost contact with air traffic control before the crash, and no emergency call was made. The investigation is in its preliminary stages, with authorities indicating that the plane had been cleared for takeoff and the pilots were experienced. The search for the black box, crucial for understanding the events leading to the crash, is ongoing.
