The Enforcement Directorate sent notices to actor Prakash Raj for questioning in connection with the Ponzi scheme investigation involving Pranav Jewellers. Prakash Raj has been a brand ambassador for this company.
The ED summoned the actor after the searches at properties linked to Tiruchirapalli-based Pranav Jewellers on November 20. The probe into an alleged bogus gold investment scheme asked Prakash Raj to appear at the federal agency in Chennai on December 5.
The raids conducted by ED reportedly recovered unaccounted cash worth Rs 23.70 lakh along with gold jewellery weighing 11.60 kg and many incrimination documents.
The Economic Offences Wing lodged the first Information report against Pranav Jewellers’ Ponzi Scheme. Pranav Jewellers allegedly collected a mammoth Rs 100 crore from the public in the name of a gold investment scheme and failed to fulfil the commitment.
