Floating Casinos in Vizag?

The strong buzz doing the rounds is that AP state government is mulling over to permit casinos in Vizag. Apparently, floating casinos are being considered where they would be permitted on sea. While such casinos are allowed in Goa, the AP government is contemplating bringing it to Vizag.

The move is expected to increase the revenue of the state government. It is also expected to see a spike in Tourism revenue and provide employment opportunities to many. Some senior leaders in the ruling party are mounting pressure on the government to permit casinos along the coastal line. Vizag, Bheemili are the front-runners for these floating casinos which are in talks. On one hand, the state government is busy shifting the capital to Vizag. And strong rumours about casinos coming up in Vizag are worrying the Vizagites.

Opposition parties are making hue and cry given the speculations. They’re questioning the government’s plans to permit casinos at Vizag which is touted as the Administrative Capital of the state. TDP, BJP and Janasena are strongly opposing the government’s plans. Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation from the government on Casinos.
