Streaming giant Netflix is expanding its business into popcorn selling. Netflix is partnering with Popcorn Indiana to launch a line of popcorn under the brand Netflix: Now Popping.
Netflix popcorn will be available at Walmart. The flavors include ‘Cult Classic Cheddar Jettle Corn’ and ‘Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn’. Getting ready to binge-watch your favorite shows on Netflix is fun when popcorn is added, but the price of each 8 oz popcorn bag is $4.50!
If you buy a bag of each flavor, the popcorn for one time is higher than the cost of the Netflix Basic plan with ads, which is now $6.99/month in the US.
Earlier, theater chain AMC launched its own line of popcorn in 2021. However, Netlfix’s Now Popping is not the first food-related brand extension. It made a deal with Ben & Jerry; ‘s to introduce Netflix & Chilll’d flavor peanut butter ice cream with sweet-and-salty pretzel swirls and fudge brownies.
Netflix announced the new popcorn line as part of advertising its summer lineup of TV shows like ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ final season, Too Hot to Handle new season, Barbecue Showdown, A Family Affair, and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
