There is a decline in new positive Covid-19 cases in the country over the last few days and in the last 24 hours, India has posted less than 50K cases which is for the first time in the last three months.
46,791 new cases were reported on Monday and the last India recorded below 50K cases was on July 28th. With the new cases, the total cases tally stands at 75,97,064 and the active cases count is 7,48,538 while the percentage of active cases have fallen below 10 percent. The total recoveries are 67,33,328. The covid-19 death tally stands at 1,15,197.
However, this dip in new cases is not a sign of relief as the second wave reports are making headlines. An expert committee appointed by the Centre foresees that half of India’s population might get infected with Covid-19 but at the same time, the vaccine is likely to be out.
