The unprecedented rains created havoc in Hyderabad. There was a huge loss of property and life. The rescue operations are going on at one hand but the incessant rains are creating more troubles.
The Telangana government has stepped up the relief work and has announced to provide Rs 10K financial assistance to every damaged house in Hyderabad. However due to Covid-19, the Telangana government is experiencing severe shortage of funds. Accordingly Telangana CM KCR has appealed to the Centre to provide immediate assistance of Rs 1350 crore but there is no response from New Delhi.
Instead of waiting for Centre’s response, CM KCR has appealed to industrialists and people to make donations. Responding to it, Tollywood has come forward. Several celebrities have announced their individual contribution.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, Superstar Mahesh Babu announced 1 Cr and hero Vijay Deverakonda have announced Rs 10 Lakhs to CMRF while Young Tiger Jr NTR, King Nagarjuna have announced Rs 50 lakh donation. Haarika & Hassine Creations along with director Trivikram Srinivas have announced Rs 5 Lakh donation. Directors Harish Shankar and Anil Ravipudi too made Rs 5 Lakh donation.
