Kolkata Knight Riders got a 60-run massive win against Rajasthan Royals last night. With this win, they are still alive in the playoff race while Rajasthan is kicked out of the tournament. If KKR wants to qualify for the playoffs, they have to hope that Sunrisers Hyderabad loses to Mumbai Indians in the last game of the league stage. If Sunrisers win their last game, KKR has some mathematical chances of qualifying into playoffs. Those changes depend on the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals which will be held later tonight.
KKR can qualify irrespective to SRH Vs MI match’s result with the help of these scenarios:
— If RCB bats first and lose – The requirement is Delhi should chase the target with 15 balls to spare
— If DC bat first and lose – The requirement is RCB should chase the target with 12 balls to spare
— If RCB bowls first and lose – The requirement is Delhi should win by 22 runs or more.
— If DC bowls first and lose – The requirement is Bangalore should win by 18 runs or more.
Any of these scenarios will make KKR get into the playoffs irrespective of the SRH match result. Thus, it is an important game for not only RCB and DC but also for KKR.
