The previous term of President-elect Donald Trump was a nightmare for students and work visa holders. There were a lot of visa rejections and RFEs and the students had to undergo severe scrutiny during the immigration.
Now that Trump is taking charge as the President of the USA on January 20, the employees and the students who are on vacation outside the country are advised to be back in the country before that date. Some universities asking their students to be in the country before January 20, has gone viral about the uncertainties and risks that could arise with the new government.
In the latest viral post, an Investment company sent emails to the employees advising them who are not US citizens or green card holders to complete travel and return to the US by January 19th and 20th, 2025, if possible.
‘With the recent US election and the upcoming change in administration, we understand that immigration policy changes may be on the horizon’, is the reason mentioned by the company.
The email further asks the associates to apply for a visa stamp at a US Embassy or Consulate while traveling around the holidays, to schedule their consular interview on or before January 3rd, 2025 and if they already have scheduled an appointment after this date, it recommends booking an earlier appointment if possible.
It looks like the companies are taking the utmost safety measures to face the Trump government’s policy changes in immigration.
