Zomato 2024: Indians Ordered 9 Cr biryanis!

Online food delivery facilitation app Zomato has revealed an overall outlook of the ordering patterns exhibited by Indians in 2024. Down below is a brief report on the dishes that are ordered the most by Indian diner.

As expected, biryani is the most ordered dish in India for the year 2024. As revealed by Zomato, this is the ninth consecutive year that biryani is topping the list of most order dishes across the country.

Astonishingly enough, Indians ordered nine crore biryanis in 2024. This round up to 3 biryanis order, every second across the country. As it appears not just Hyderabad, but all of India prefers biryani as its most favourite dish.

Then comes pizza which is a rather foreign dish for the Indian diners. However, in view of the growing popularity for pizza in the country, we have ordered 5.8 crore pizzas in 2024. This is the second most ordered dish on the list.

Coming to beverages, tea has narrowly beaten its closest competitor coffee. Indians ordered 7.7 crore cups of tea while on the other hand. 7.4 crore cups of coffee were sold.

Coming to Zomato, dine in service, one man from Bengaluru has created a sensation of sorts. This unnamed man has spent a bill of Rs 5.13 lakh in a single sitting at a restaurant in Bengaluru. This is the biggest bill paid on Zomato dining service.
