Mahakumbh: Veteran Heroine Expelled By Kinnar Akhara Founder

Bollywood’s veteran heroine Mamta Kulkarni was expelled from the Kinnar Akhara only days after her induction as Mahamandaleshwar. Kinnar Akhara founder Ajay Das also expelled Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi for inducting Mamta Kulkarni.

Many within Akhara objected Mamta Kulkarni being appointed as Mahamandaleshwar. Laxmi Narayan Tripathi responded to the controversy and claims Das was not in a position of authority to expel him.

Baba Ramdev earlier said that Mahakumbhmela is a highly pure and spiritual event and said that a few people are encouraging obscenity into it. He further said that people who have enjoyed worldly comforts have now claim to have become ascetics.

Mamta Kulkarni was one of the popular actresses in Bollywood and she quit films in 2003 to live abroad. She was accused in drug racket later. To everyone’s surprise, Mamta Kulkarni came back to India after all these years to attend Mahakumbhmela and changed her name to ‘Mayee Mamatanand giri’.
