No Indian Airlines In World’s Safest Airlines List

The annual report of ‘Airline Ratings’ is released for 2025 and no airlines from India could make it to the list of ‘World’s Safest Airlines’. However, one Indian airline, Indigo made it to the list of low-cost carriers list.

Aviation experts evaluate nearly 400 airlines based on safety criteria, serious incidents over the past two years, overall incident rates, regulatory audits, fleetage and size, pilot training standards, recent fatal accidents, and financial stability. Financial stability is believed to be significant in operational challenges.

25 Safest Low-cost Airlines

The ratings are based on the safety credentials of low-cost carriers around the world, and IndiGo is in 19th place. US Airlines Frontier is at 5, Sun Country at 15, JetBlue at 17, and Allegiant Air secured the 21st position. Popular low-cost carrier Spirit could not make it to the list due to a recent bankruptcy filing.

Hongkong Express is in first place on the Low-cost carrier safety ratings list of 25, followed by Jetstar Group, Ryanair, Easy Jet, Frontier Airlines, AirAsia, Wizz Air, VietJet Air, Southwest Airlines, Volaris, FlyDubai, Norwegian, Vueling, Jet2, Sun Country Airlines, WestJet, JetBlue, Air Arabia, IndiGo, Eurowings, Allegiant Air, Cebu Pacific, ZipAir, SKY Airline and Air Baltic.
