Huge Drop In Chicken Biryani Sales!

Hyderabad, the city of biryani, has caught up with the fear of Bird Flu. As a result, the sales of Chicken Biryani dropped significantly all over the city. Many popular restaurants in Hyderabad are witnessing a huge drop in the sales of chicken biryani and chicken dishes over the last few days.

The restaurant owners are saying that even though the government asked to remain cautious and didn’t ban the chicken, people are extremely careful and are completely avoiding chicken. They also say that this phenomenon led to an increase in sales of mutton dishes and also resulted in a hike in mutton prices. Reportedly, restaurants used to prepare 50-60 chicken biryani handis and only 10-15 mutton biryani handis every day.

However, with the decline in demand for chicken, the number of chicken biryani handis came down while the number of mutton biryani handis doubled and also tripled in many restaurants. Recently, there was a rise in the cases of H5N1 avian influenza in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra.

Due to this outbreak of bird-flu, the governments asked people to remain cautious while consuming chicken.
