In recent times, there has been a significant spike in the number of social media influencers promoting betting apps and lottery programs among the general public. These influencers claim to be making huge money from betting apps and even share promotional videos of the same.
However, the Andhra Pradesh Police Department has taken note of this disturbing phenomenon and has now taken strong measures to address it.
Recently, Vizag police arrested a fisherman named Nani for promoting betting apps and encouraging his followers to invest money in them. This action by the Vizag police was well-received on social media, and they were appreciated for their efforts to curb the betting culture.
Shortly after this incident, the Vijayawada Police Department also took action by issuing a public notice, warning social media influencers to refrain from promoting betting.
The clear instruction from the Andhra Pradesh police is that any social media influencer found promoting betting apps and lottery programs will face legal consequences, including imprisonment.
This action is much needed, as we are seeing a shockingly high number of suicides among youth who became addicted to online betting and lost large sums of money. At a time when the general public is being adversely affected by this betting culture, it is commendable that the Andhra Pradesh Police Department has taken strong measures against it.
