Viral Video: Trump-Zelenskyy Heated Argument In White House

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House turned out to be a furious session with Trump making it clear to his Ukranian counterpart to make a deal with Russia “or we are out” (of the minerals deal).

Trump and Zelenskyy interrupted each other in front of the media during the meeting, with an agenda to sign a minerals deal and also gain US’ support to end Russia’s invasion into Ukraine. But, Trump and Vance doubled down on Zelenskyy in front of the world media.

The meeting started on a good note between the leaders but it took a disastrous turn when Trump started to shift the blame for the war to Ukraine, while the Russia invaded the country in 2022. The argument deepened when Vice President JD Vance interjected to answer a question about Trump’s support for Russia.

Vance pointed to the US President for the last four years who talked tough about Vladimir Putin, who invaded Ukraine and destroyed a major portion of the country. “The path to peace and the path to prosperity is maybe engaging in diplomacy,” the Vice President said. Vance’s words on diplomacy triggered Zelenskyy and he argued that Putin was unreliable, pointing out to the ceasefire deal sign between them in 2015 after Russia annexed Crimea.

Zelenskyy pointed out that Putin broke the ceasefire and killed Ukranian people but did not exchange prisoners. We signed about exchange of prisoners but he did not do it. What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about, Zelensky said. Vance replied that he was speaking about the diplomacy that could end the war in Ukraine.

With tempers running high, Vance accused Zelenskyy of being “disrespectful” to Trump, who was trying to end the three-year-old war. The meeting discussed about Russia-Ukraine war before the minerals deal and the fallout between the leaders was swift, without the deal being signed. Instead, Zelenskyy’s delegation was asked to leave the White House in a disrespectful manner. Trump branded the Ukrainian leader “disrespectful” and questioning his commitment to peace.

During the discussion, Trump told Zelensky he was not thankful enough for US military and political support, and that he was “gambling with World War Three”. Earlier, Zelensky had argued there should be “no compromises” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Trump said Kyiv would have to make concessions to reach a peace deal with Russia.

In February 2022, Russia launched invasion of Ukraine and at present, it has hold over 20% of the neighbouring country.
