With the financial year coming to an end by the end of March, private employees across the country are preparing for tax filing and related activities. In this context, something very interesting and unexpected has happened with a tea stall worker in Gujarat.
A tea stall worker named Asif Mohammed, who is based out of Gujarat has reportedly received an income tax notice demanding ₹115 crore remittance. He has been working at a hotel in Gir Somnath for 25 years earning a monthly salary of ₹10,000 and was shocked to receive this notice.
He stated that he has only ₹475 in his bank account and has received similar notices from the Income Tax Department three times before.
This might have obviously been a mistake from the income tax department, and it is expected to be sorted out very soon. But the fact that a worker was served a notice for ₹115 crore is as absurd as it can get.
Social media users are funny commenting about the fact that if a test worker with 10,000 salary is getting notice for ₹115 crore, then what’s going to be the case with top tech workers who get lakhs of rupees in salaries.
