One of the greatest ever batsmen in the history of Cricket, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from the test format of the game yesterday. This retirement came at a rather unexpected time, considering that Kohli had been training extensively in the longer format.

In fact, he had even played the Ranji trophy recently in order to enhance his form in this format. But despite all the preparation carefully decided to retire, even before the England test series, which is starting very soon.

Incidentally, Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma arrived at the famous Vrindavan Dham in Uttar Pradesh. They arrived at the Ashram of Premanand Maharaj, who happens to be a very famous spiritual leader in the region.

The fact that Kohli arrived at this spiritual locality, a day after his retirement is indicating that his announcement came with affair bit of pressure and mental reconciliation. Nevertheless, retiring from the test format after 14 sprawling years is a task beyond ordinary measure.
