In the recent times, we have been hearing countless cases of normal people committing suicide due to the financial burden they brought on themselves through online gaming and gambling activities.
Finally, the central cabinet has cleared the new online gaming bill which would largely restrict the online gaming culture in India. This bill was cleared by the cabinet in principal, and it is likely to come to implementation very soon.
This bill would essentially ban any sort of money oriented gaming activities online. It would also prohibit the advertisement of online gaming companies and any person promoting the same could be held responsible and jailed for the same.
This bill would also prompt banking services not to process the transactions related to online gaming henceforth. The transfer of funds is going to be largely cut down for these online gaming operations.
Also, anyone who is found guilty of indulging in online gaming activities could be facing hefty fines and could even be jailed for the same. It is going to be considered as a serious offence, henceforth.
This is going to play a crucial role in the restriction of the online gaming culture, which has been literally tarnishing the larger population. We have witnessed countless victim stories, and it is good to see the central cabinet finally working on it.
