Pics: India’s Longest Glass Bridge in Vizag

The longest glass skywalk bridge in the country is gearing up to welcome visitors in Vizag, close to the Kailasagiri Hills. At a cost of Rs 7 crore, the 55-meter-long glass cantilever bridge is nearing completion. With its stunning panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal coastline, the glass bridge is set to become a popular tourist destination.

The glass bridge, which VMRDA is building close to the Titanic Viewpoint at the famous Kailasagiri Hills, will offer tourists an exhilarating experience. Following the formation of the coalition government led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the glass bridge’s foundation construction got underway in October 2024.

In addition to the glass bridge, 150-meter-long sky-cycling tracks and two-way ziplines are also being built to provide adventurer seekers with an exhilarating experience. The glass sky bridge should be open to the public by the end of this year, making Vizag a top travel destination in India.

While the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) will receive a 40 percent share in the ticket sales, the private builder from Kerala who won the bid will keep the remaining portion. Up to 40 people can walk the bridge at once, according to its design. Currently, India has three glass bridges in Kerala, Bihar, and Sikkim.
