As an act of gratitude and respect, all three services of the Indian Armed Forces flew from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and showered rose petals on hospitals and displayed solidarity with the corona warriors and frontliners who are fighting the pandemic in India.
Starting the process with laying wreaths at the police memorial in Delhi, the army, IAF, and Navy also shown respect at other cities in order to honour the police personnel deployed for enforcement of the nationwide lockdown. Later, the armed forces have conducted aerial fly-pasts, light up ships at sea and shower flower petals on several hospitals across the country.
The Indian Air Force helicopter expressed gratitude to the coronavirus ‘warriors’, by showering flower petals over the state-run Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. The Chetak helicopter hovered over the hospital at around 10.30 am and showered petals as doctors, nurses, paramedical, sanitation and other staff and police personnel assembled near the premises. All of them were seen taking videos and photos from their mobile phones and clapped in return.
The flypasts of fighter jets and transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force went on to cover number of cities and towns across the country beginning at 10 AM. And fighter jets of IAF has conducted fly-pasts in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Patna and Lucknow. Transport aircraft of the force carried out similar drills in Srinagar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram.
