Hyderabad faced tragedy on Wednesday night after heavy rainfall left several parts of the city waterlogged. A 26-year-old man lost his life when his scooter got stuck in the deep waters of a flooded railway underpass in Balkampet.
Police said the man was returning home when he tried to cross the underpass filled with water. The strong current made it impossible for him to escape, and he drowned before help could reach. His body was later recovered, and a case was registered based on a complaint from his family.
The heavy rains caused major problems across the city, with several low-lying areas facing severe flooding. Traffic police and civic teams worked through the night to pump out water and keep traffic moving.
Officials once again warned people not to enter flooded roads or underpasses during heavy rains, as these places can quickly become very dangerous.
This tragic incident is a reminder of the risks of sudden flooding in cities and the urgent need for better drainage systems and public safety measures.
