Team India is currently facing a lot of criticism on social media for the humiliating performance in the test series against South Africa. India lost the series 2-0 as South Africa absolutely whitewashed India in their backyard.
In this context, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautham Gambhir sat in front of the Media and he had a dismissive reaction on this result.
I’m same guy under whom India did well in England, won the Champions Trophy and won the Asia Cup, Gambhir said as he cited previous victories of the Indian team to evade the humiliating result in the ongoing test series.
When asked to comment on his first assessment on why the team is performing so badly in the test matches, Gambhir had an interesting reaction as he spoke about the transition period.
“I’ve said it in the past as well that I hate the word transition and I’m not here to give excuses, but this is exactly what transition is. The young players are learning on the job. You’ve to give them time”. Gambhir set the young players in the team must be given more time to settle down and the results will start to come after that.
But nevertheless, social media is fuming with the fact that India lost four out of the previous six test matches that they played in home conditions, which is a very poor statistic.
