IndiGo Flight Crisis Deepens, Railways Steps In!

The trouble with IndiGo flights has continued across many airports, leaving thousands of passengers stuck. With large scale cancellations creating chaos everywhere, the Railway Department has now stepped in with major support to handle the sudden rush of travelers.

IndiGo flight cancellations have forced many people to look for other ways to travel. To manage this heavy demand, Indian Railways took an immediate decision to increase capacity on several important routes. In a quick response move, the Railways added one hundred and sixteen extra coaches to thirty seven premium trains across the country.

Southern Railway increased passenger capacity in eighteen major trains. To help long route travelers, Eastern Railway added extra sleeper class coaches in three key trains. Northern Railway added third AC and chair car coaches in eight trains to handle the rising demand. Western Railway increased third AC and second AC coaches on busy routes. East Central Railway added additional second AC coaches in several trains.

Along with these changes, the Railways also decided to add extra coaches on ten busy routes from today until the tenth of this month. These additional coaches are expected to help thousands of passengers who were left stranded due to sudden flight cancellations.

While passengers at many airports expressed anger at IndiGo for cancelling flights without proper notice, the Railway Department has become the only major relief option for long distance travel. With the flight crisis likely to take a few more days to settle, Railways is preparing to handle even more passenger load in the coming days.
