Cyderabad Traffic Challans Double Compared to Last Year

The Hyderabad city police department have taken the policing aspect very seriously after the recent change of personnel at the executive level. In this context, the traffic police department has largely amplified the challan system.

And now, the latest developments are suggesting that the city has started to nearly double the number of traffic challans amidst the enforcement of the new system.

Reportedly, the city traffic police have imposed fines amounting to Rs 239 crore for the year 2025. Shockingly enough, as many 36 lakh challans have been summoned on the city commuters for the past year.

This is an indication of the fact that the city has reported nearly 1/3rd of its overall population getting fined by the challan system. Nearly 50,000 of these cases are for wrong side driving which is a dangerous trend.

In comparison, Hyderabad city posted Rs 111.89 crore in challans for the year 2024 and this has been more than doubled in 2025 which is a shocking statistic.
