For the last few years, India has been one of the fastest growing countries when it comes to instant food delivery. The dominance of Zomato and Swiggy has been going up regularly as more and more Indians are starting to order food online.
However, with the volume of food delivery that is going up, there is the obvious rise in the fraud activities as well.
Zomato CEO, Deepikder Goyal revealed that people have started to use artificial intelligence to create particular kind of images just to get refund from Zomato.
“These days people are using AI to add images of insect, hair, nails and other stuff into the food parcels delivered by Zomato and asking for refund. We have also seen a spike in the number of people using AI to morph images of cake orders to make them look smashed and applying for refunds.” He said.
The Zomato CEO was of the opinion that this is a very bad trend and needs to be addressed on priority by leading food delivery platforms.
While the rest of the world is using AI to create advanced technology and help fasten their day-to-day activities, it is sad to see a section of the Indian population using AI to create false images and claim refunds from delivery platforms.
