The work from home culture which was largely implemented by several IT and outsourcing companies during the Covid era is now being replaced with companies mandating employees to come to offices and work places.
In fact, several leading IT companies in India have mandated their employees to be physically present in the offices and have even set quotas and procedures for the same.
In this context, Tata consultancy services, TCS has done something out of the ordinary as they have withheld the final year appraisals to employees who have failed to meet the work from office statistics.
Incidentally, TCS had recently mandated work from office system to all of its employees and even issued circulars in this regard. And now several employees who did not meet the requirements set by TCS regarding the mandated WFO hours have not received the year end appraisal mails from the company.
It must be noted that TCS has been very firm and working from office as it mandated all of its employees to be present in their work spaces 5 days a week. And now they have taken another significant step by withholding the salary appraisals of employees who have failed to meet these standards.
