Ego Clash? Why Is RCB Moving Out Of Bengaluru?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru is one of the most followed teams in the IPL and they have created history by winning the IPL trophy finally after 18 years. But this victory came at a cost as their trophy celebrations in 2025 led to a stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and this invited action from the Karnataka government.

Earlier, the Karnataka government communicated that they would not permit any big game for RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was stated by the government that there are security concerns at this stadium, and it is not fit for hosting big game.

But as the IPL season approached, the government changed its stand as deputy CM Siva Kumar stated that Chinnaswamy Stadium will be hosting IPL games this year, but alternative measures will be taken in the coming years.

However, the latest developments are suggesting that the RCB team management has decided to move out of the Chinnaswamy Stadium and play their home games elsewhere. Reportedly the team has finalised the DY Patil Stadium in Raipur and the national Stadium in Navi Mumbai for their seven home games.

This would essentially mean that RCB might not be playing any of their home games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They will be touring Raipur and Navi Mumbai for their home games if the developments are to be believed.

There are reports that there might be certain ego classes between RCB management and the government of Karnataka as neither of them have been backing down.

But whatever might be the reason, Bengaluru fans will have to face the brunt as they cannot be witnessing the games at the RCB Stadium, if the management decides to move out.
