The Sankranti festival brings together friends and family members at their hometowns and is celebrated with great joy. But the Sankranthi has spurred tragedy into the lives of two Telugu software employees who died due to excessive alcohol consumption.
Let us have a look at the tragic story involving two Telugu software engineers from Chittoor district who died while competing to drink 19 beers in a fateful competition.
Going into the story, on the occasion of Sankranthi festival, six young men held a party in Bandavaddipalli village in Chittoor district. Two of them, Avalakunta Manikumar (34) and Vemula Pushparaj (26), competed to drink beer, consuming 19 bottles between 3 PM and 7:30 PM.
Due to excessive beer consumption, they suffered from dehydration and Manikimar died while being transported to the hospital, and Pushparaj died while undergoing treatment.
The other four, Avalakunta Shravan Kumar (23), Pasupuleti Shivamani (21), Avalakunta Venugopal (20), and Kotakonda Abhishek (18), who drank less beer, are fine. The two individuals who took part in the drinking competition and consumed 19 beers had died due to excessive alcohol exposure.
