It is already known that the Indian cricket body has rightly restricted all Indian players from playing in Pakistan due to the security concerns and prevailing tensions between the two countries.
But in this context, something untoward has happened as it’s being established that Bollywood filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and reputed critic Anupama Chopra’s son Agnidev Chopra had found himself in a controversy.
It was publicised on social media that Agnidev who is training in cricket in the USA had enrolled himself for the Pakistan Super League.
This news quickly broke out and there was criticism on Anupama as social media users opined Anupama had recently critiqued Dhurandhar badly and got “anti-Indian” tag and now, her son enrolled in PSL.
Later, an official clarification came from Agnidev as he confirmed that he’s not a part of the PSL. “Fake and misleading reports are being circulated in my name regarding a tournament. I would like to clarify that I have not enrolled for the PSL. I remain fully focused on my cricket journey in the USA and my long-term career goals. I request everyone not to fall prey to misinformation.” He stated.
This is the official clarity from their side but again, a few people are still posting that Agnidev is still enrolled for PSL and the same is reported in the PSL website even now. The controversy is continuing to brew again now.
