Just before the start of the T20 World Cup, India lost a strong pace bowler in the form of Harshit Rana. This was followed by illness to Jaspreet Bumrah and India could luckily find a quick replacement in the form of Mohammed Siraj.
But the latest developments are suggesting that India could be in further trouble with regard to injury updates as it is being established that another star player in the team is doubtful for the second game which is against Namibia.
Reportedly Abhishek Sharma, who has been in brilliant form for India at the top of the order is still suffering from illness and is doubtful for the game against Namibia on February 12. Apparently, he had been struggling from tummy upset and is yet to fully recover from the same.
In case Abhishek Sharma cannot recover on time for the second game against Namibia, then India could be opting to go for the alternative player, Sanju Samson in his position.
This is a penultimate decision that will be taken by the team management at the last moment, and we have to patiently wait and see if Abhishek Sharma can make it to the team by recovering on time.
This is a tricky situation for the young player who had been in brilliant form ahead of the World Cup and is expected to be an integral part of the T20 team for many years to come.
This T20 World Cup experience could have done a world of good to him, and he would certainly be hopeful of the same.
