The kind of significant impact that artificial intelligence has been having on the software industry is beyond measure, and this is not likely to slowdown in the near future either.
It has now reached a point where software companies have started to mandate the usage of AI for its employees. In this context, we have the case of global consulting giant Accenture, which has mandated AI usage for its senior management in order to secure promotions.
According to the latest developments, Accenture has tied up the promotion mechanism for its employees with the usage of internal AI tools.
This would essentially mean that employees will have to start using the Accenture AI tools if they are to secure significant promotions in their respective streams in the coming future.
This comes shortly after the top leadership in Accenture has made it very clear to the employees that those who do not use AI will have to be exiting the company in the future during the downsizing operations.
The company says that the use of AI tools will enhance workmanship and efficiency. However, they have not mandated senior management or mid-level staff to start using AI tools, even for daily operations.
On one hand, AI automation is already leading to layoffs as companies have been forcing out employees due to AI’s quick work rate. And now the very same AI is being used to measure the skill of the employees and determine the promotion level. It appears that this software industry is entirely going to revolve around “AI” in the near future.
