For the last decade, the software engineering industry has been the primary contributor for global revenue and one of the biggest employment avenues globally. But due to the rapid revolution in the AI sector, several human tasks, including basic coding are being performed with precision and efficiency by AI systems.
In this regard, several global companies have been firing their human workforce at an aggravated pace, almost on a monthly basis as they have been replacing humans with AI systems.
When asked to comment on the kind of impact that could be sustained by the AI system, an executive at Anthropic had a very wild comment. He projected that entry level software engineering jobs could be vanished by the end of 2026 as they will be entirely replaced by AI systems.
This tech expert pointed out that AI systems are equipped well enough to handle all the jobs carried out by the basic software engineering professional. Subsequently, companies could be replacing this basic code with AI systems while looking to hire only skilled higher level programmers and engineers.
This could be considered as a significant blow to the larger section of the graduating population, who have been hoping to crack the IT sector. But this could be considered as a welcome change as a student can instead train in AI for better understanding and adequate opportunities.
