The Government of India has clarified that the country has enough oil and gas resources, and there is no reason for the public to panic. However, things are not going exactly as planned, and the latest developments in Bengaluru suggest the same.
According to the latest communication from the Bengaluru Hotels Association, hotels in the city will shut down from tomorrow.
Reportedly, the supply of gas cylinders for commercial use has been stopped from today. As a result, common people, senior citizens, students, patients, and others who depend on these hotels for daily meals may face difficulties.
In addition, the hotel industry will also face serious challenges until the gas supply returns to normal. Oil companies had earlier stated that there would be no disruption in gas supply for 70 days. However, the sudden stoppage of supply has come as a big blow to the hotel industry, the association said.
The association also stated that it expects the concerned Union ministers to take immediate action to resume commercial gas supply and support the hotel industry. It added that hotels will remain closed from tomorrow due to the halt in gas supply.
Reportedly, the commercial distribution of gas cylinders has been abruptly halted, which means eateries in Bengaluru may shut down from tomorrow. This could become a major issue if the situation continues for several days, especially if more cities face similar disruptions.
