Private buses are turning into death traps for passengers as the incidence of accidents keeps rising day by day. Several shocking tragedies took place in the last few months and another ghastly accident took place on Thursday morning in Andhra Pradesh.
According to latest reports, a private bus collided head-on with a tipper lorry carrying building material today morning near Rayavaram village in Markapuram Mandal. The impact of the collision was so high that the bus caught fire and at least 10 passengers were burnt alive as per preliminary reports.
The bus belonging to Hari Krishna travels was travelling from Jagtial in Telangana to Podili district in Andhra Pradesh. The accident took place at Palakala Quary at around 6 o clock in the morning.
As soon as the news came out, Police team and fire department personnel rushed the spot and launched rescue operations. Firefighters battled the flames and managed to bring the situation under control.
But, several people sustained serious injuries. Nearly 20 people were saved from the blaze and immediately sent to nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Eye witnesses revealed that the casualties might increase due to the seriousness of the injuries. The exact cause of the accident is yet to know. Initial investigation suggest that both vehicles collided head-on and caught fire due to the heavy impact.
A few months ago, a similar tragedy took place in Kurnool district when nearly 20 people were dead when a private bus caught fire after. Also, a Telangana RTC bus also crashed into a tipper lorry in November last year and resulted in the death of 20 passengers.
