Why Stand-Up Comedy Dragging Heroes’ Personal Lives?

Stand-up comedy is a form of art which is aimed to generate laughs with the use of jester involving humourous one liners and situational comedy. The comedian usually tries to tickle the funny bone of audiences with his amusing stories using punchlines and satirical dialogues.

With increasing cosmopolitan culture in big cities of India, stand-up comedy shows slowly started gaining traction in the last few years. It has now emerged as one of the most-preferred forms of entertainment during weekends. We have already seen a handful of individuals making good fame with their unique talent in this segment.

Of late, a bunch of comedians are thriving in Hyderabad too and their weekend shows are witnessing jam-packed crowd due to its growing influence on the public. Unfortunately, some of these shows are turning out to be controversial because the orators are crossing the line in an attempt to become famous overnight.

Recently, a comedian based out in Hyderabad sparked a huge controversy by making needless remarks on the personal lives of top league Tollywood actors like Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan in one of his shows. He literally dragged the family members of these heroes and tried to generate a few laughs with his unpalatable statements.

These unnecessary remarks are presently going viral on social media platforms, inviting strong backlash from all quarters as they appear to mock the actors directly in the name of comedy. By passing unwarranted remarks in public with the use of unfortunate incidents in an individual’s life is no way considered as comedy at any level.

Moreover, such statements may even lead to severe consequences because abuse of women and making defamatory statements against others is likely to invite legal trouble and also trigger the emotions of supporters.

We have already seen a few instances in the past when individuals faced stringent action for crossing the limits during public interactions. So, stand up comedians should bear in mind that they cannot simply get away by degrading celebrities in the nick of the moment during their shows as there is every chance that these remarks will draw the attention of larger section of the public in the age of social media.
