The government of India and particularly the concerned education ministry came under severe pressure due to the recent NEET question paper leakage. And now that the country is preparing for the re examination, the authorities have made a very unconventional decision.
According to the latest flash reports and a subsequent confirmation from the authorities, ahead of the NEET re-examination on June 21, the Centre has reportedly taken a major step by temporarily banning Telegram until June 22.
It is being described by the authorities that this decision has been taken in order to prevent the circulation of leaked papers and misinformation on Telagram.
Earlier it was widely speculated that Telegram is one of the principal, social media platforms where these question papers were being circulated by miscreants. Now that the country is preparing for re-examination, the Indian authorities have decided to ban the Telegram platform till June 22.
It is strange to see the Indian authorities go after a social media platform in order to prevent leakages while the integrity of the Education board is in question for such activities in the first place.
The measure is aimed at ensuring a free and fair conduct of the examination and preventing the spread of unauthorized information through messaging platforms.
