The artificial intelligence revolution across the globe has started to cast a serious effect on the human workforce with thousands of jobs being lost each week globally. The matters are not going to be any better in the near future as we continue to face a detrimental impact on human workforce.
To put that into perspective, we have the case of General motors which is one of the leading automotive manufacturers in the United States, which has fired thousand humans to replace them with 50 robots.
The company is facing severe backlash from the workers union and also common folk on social media for firing thousand working capital and procuring 50 collaborative robots in their Detroit Assembly line.
This is a part of the broad automation drive that has been taken up by the General Motors assembly wing and it is seriously impacting the human workforce which is at stake here.
The worst part here is that these robots are working parallely with the rest of the human workforce that are employed at the company, and it should be a matter of time before they are trained adequately.
Once the plant is fully automated, there is every chance that the company might completely wave off the human working capital and switch to robots and automated systems. This is going to be very bad piece of information to the workers union which is already protesting the recent axing of 1000 human jobs.
