#BoysLockerRoom: School Boys discussions on rapes goes viral

The gangrapes, abusing and acid attacks have not stopped and the security for women anywhere in the world is always a concern. They had to look from their shoulders throughout their lives and yet they become the prey of wild animals in our society. While many think that illiterates and poor commit these crimes, here is a ghastly proof that a group of school-going boys and girls in Delhi glorifying the gangrape.

In a most shocking and grisly update, a private Instagram chat group discussion between rich schoolboys in Delhi have seen light through screenshots. The screenshots of their chats and the kind of words they use have shaken the nation at once and some of them even talk about minor girls and their bodies!

One ‘Bois Locker Room’ #BoysLockerRoom, an Instagram chatroom with several hundreds of members swap nudes, share objectionable pictures of minor girls and young women most of the time with their personal information. They discussed techniques of raping women and gang-raping minors. With the screenshots made out, an FIR has been filed in this regard with Delhi Commission for Women and to take stringent action against all the members of the group.

These disturbing stories about objectifying women, gangraping them, morphing their pictures are reportedly coming from boys going to the same class in a school or mostly known to each other. The girls and names being shamed with lewd comments in the chat group are mostly underaged.

These kinds of private social media groups with boys and men are nothing but the platforms and institutions for the evolving-rapists and those who abuse and attack women in the near future. The boys, if get caught, will be punishable for 2 years for threatening a woman with intimidating comments and threats under section 507. Section 509 of IPC punishes them with a fine for morphing and posting pictures with sexual insinuations on social media.

Again, the lack of transparency with social media groups and accounts turns the moot question at this point, as these all could get away without punishment if they were not caught. Even if they are caught and if they are 15-18 years old, just like a juvenile in nirbhaya case, they get away anyway.
