Telangana Police Ranked No 1 in the Country

Telangana Police has achieved the top rank in the country for cyber crime performance. The recognition came during the latest PRAGATI review meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister PK Mishra along with senior officials from the Centre.

The ranking was based on the performance of all states across nine key cyber crime parameters. Telangana moved to the No 1 position within just two months after improving coordination and strengthening its cyber crime response.

Officials said the turnaround was possible after the Cyber Security Bureau started closely coordinating with district police units and commissionerates. Better data sharing and regular monitoring helped improve the state’s performance.

Telangana has also introduced several initiatives including India’s first Cyber Security Bureau S4C and the e Zero FIR system for cyber fraud cases involving more than ₹5 lakh. The state also improved grievance redressal money recovery inter state coordination and public awareness on cyber crimes.

More than 500 police officers have been trained in cyber crime investigation while lakhs of people have been reached through awareness campaigns on online fraud and digital arrest scams.

Senior officials credited the Cyber Security Bureau team and police units across the state for the achievement. Telangana Police said it will continue working to become a leader in all areas of policing including AI based policing Dial 112 and anti narcotics operations.
