For many decades, it has become a global phenomenon for some of the biggest companies in the world to have CEOs of Indian origin. Several top companies like Google and Microsoft have also been implementing this strategy consistently.
We have another interesting development on this matter and this time it is one of the leading digital media companies in the world Adobe has appointed an Indian origin CEO.
Chakravarthy joined Adobe in 2020 and currently leads its Customer Experience Orchestration business. Before Adobe, he spent nearly five years as CEO of Informatica and previously held senior roles at Symantec.
The move completes the succession process Adobe announced in March, when Narayen said he would step down once a successor was found.
Narayen has led Adobe since 2007 and oversaw its transformation from packaged software into a cloud-based subscription business, including the shift of Creative Suite to Creative Cloud.
Chakravarthy now takes over as Adobe navigates its next major transition around generative and agentic AI. With this, yet another global company has appointed an Indian origin CEO, and this is a story itself now.
