Finally, Hijra Problem Reaches Hyderabad Police Top Cop!

For a really long time, now, there have been several complaints about the activities of the transgender community individuals in Hyderabad. They have been creating problems in public places, including traffic signals, and housewarming ceremonies, demanding money.

Recently, there was this viral video of a lady, explaining her experience with a transgender woman who showed up at her housewarming ceremony and demanded ₹50,000. When they were not paid the money, they tried to lift up their clothes and created a horrifying scene on such an auspicious day for the victims.

This triggered public outrage, and there was a lot of pressure on the Hyderabad police to initiate action. Now the top cop of Hyderabad Police department has swung to action and here is a look into the same.

Telangana DGP CV Anand, who is one of the fire brand official has issued a public statement to this effect. He said he has instructed the local commissioner to carry out a special drive to correct the behaviour of hijras.

I Am seeing these complaints against transgenders of late. Infact, as CP Hyderabad we had done a special drive to control the menace of begging rackets and extortions by TGs when similar complaints had gone up. I will definitely instruct all CPs to take up this special drive once again, he said.

In the meanwhile, the Telangana government has encouraged hijras to come into mainstream of life by taking them as Traffic Assistants and also in HYDRAA where they have done very well without any complaints.
