In a tragic news, a couple from Mahbubnagar district in Telangana were killed due to reckless driving by medical students during an alleged car racing between two groups. The accident happened near Amistapur village in Bhoothpur mandal on Friday night when two high speed Mahindra Thar vehicles engaged in a racing stunt.
The victims identified as MD Shakeer aged 46 and his wife Shahana Begum aged 40 died in the accident. They were going on a bike to attend a family function when the tragic accident happened. While Begum died on the spot, Shakeer sustained serious injuries and died in the hospital.
According to police and local people, some government medical college students from Mahbubnagar were doing car racing coming from Atmakur of Wanaparthy district. Because of road repair work going on near Amistapur, one Thar car lost control and rammed the motorbike from behind due to which the couple fell on the road.
Police have registered a case against the medical student named Chakali Nitin from Vikarabad who was driving the vehicle along with his friends from Peddapalli and Mulugu districts.
Now three small children have lost both their mother and father and they are left completely orphaned due to this mindless speed driving and illegal road racing.
