Trump Supporters Seize US Capitol, A Woman Shot

President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the US Capitol after Trump urged his supporters to fight against the ceremonial counting of the electoral votes that confirms Joe Biden as the winner in presidential elections.

A woman was shot on the Capitol grounds and is in critical condition. Around 1 pm EST, hundreds of pro-Trump protesters pushed through barriers along the perimeter of the Capitol to get into a scrimmage with armed officers and even calling them ‘traitors’. The demonstrators got into the building and the House and Senate doors were being locked. The House was later evacuated at around 3:30 pm.

An armed standoff was taking place at the House front door at 3 pm ET and the police had their guns drawn at someone who was trying to break the place.

Videos from inside the Capitol showed pro-Trump mob marching statuary Hall and the US Capitol Police asking for additional DC National Guard forces. meanwhile, the House and Senate leadership is safe and the location is undisclosed.

There is no comment from the White House yet, but trump tweeted “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”

President-elect Joe Biden calls on Trump to go on TV to order an end to Capitol mob. A DC police officer reportedly taken to hospital after attacked with a pepper spray. The rioters are said to be in plans to occupy the Capitol through the night.
