Virat Kohli Equals Dhoni’s Record

Virat Kohli is known for breaking records in international cricket. Now, he is all set to break another one. The ongoing fourth Test between India and England will be the 60th test match being played under Kohli’s captaincy. Now, he has equaled MS Dhoni’s all-time record of leading India in most test matches.

If India manages to win or draw this match, the team will face New Zealand in the World Test Championship that will be held in June. That will be Kohli’s 61st match as a captain. If India fails to qualify for the Test Championship final, Kohli has to wait until August to surpass Dhoni’s record. Meanwhile, Kohli also has more wins than all the other Indian Test captains.

In the 59 matches he captained, Kohli gave us 35 wins and 14 losses. Out of these 35, 22 came in the home and 13 in the other countries. Dhoni has 27 wins under his belt. Other captains who captained India for the most number of Test matches are Sourav Ganguly (49), Mohammed Azharuddin (47) and Sunil Gavaskar (47).
