54% Of Hyderabadis Have Antibodies Against COVID-19

The vaccine roll-out for COVID-19 has begun to the normal citizens earlier this month. Already, many senior citizens are getting vaccinated across the country. Meanwhile, a survey has been conducted to know the antibodies among Hyderabad citizens. This survey proved that around 54% of Hyderabadis have antibodies against the coronavirus.

The survey was conducted jointly by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Bharat Biotech. According to their results, around 54% of Hyderabadis have shown antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. This also indicates that they have prior exposure to COVID-19. The survey was conducted for around 9000 samples.

The team has surveyed 30 wards of the city. They have chosen around 300 people from each ward, who are older than 10 years. In most of the wards, the positive percentage was around 50-60%. This survey now proves that most people are already exposed to the coronavirus and also have developed antibodies as well.
