In a major setback to the Delhi Capitals team, cricketer Axar Patel has tested positive for Covid-19. Axar is the second cricketer to fell prey of the novel virus after Nitish Rana of KKR.
According to BCCI covid guidelines, cricketers who test positive of the virus will have to move out of the bio bubble space for a minimum of 10 days. A doctor will monitor their status on day-to-day basis.
DC have set up their camp in Mumbai and this city is massively hit by the second wave. Also the other day the ground staff of Wankhede stadium have tested positive for the virus and this brought a scare in teams who were practising at the stadium.
However DC team is yet to disclose if they have sent other players who came in contact with Axar in the last few days to isolation.
With just six days away from the commencement of IPL, things are not looking good but BCCI and fans are hopeful that things will settle in as the tournament begins.
