In this lockdown, police, sanitation workers and medical staff are the frontline warriors. The police are ensuring the people are sticking to homes by standing at check-posts, not bothering about the hot sun and the zones like red and containment.
However working on the containment zones is costing the lives of police. In Maharashtra, more a hundred cops have already got infected with Corona and now in Telangana, a constable has died of the virus, registering the first death in police department.
Going into details the deceased is identified as Dayakar Reddy. In this lockdown, he was posted at Old City. On Sunday Dayakar complained of high fever and severe body pains. He was admitted at Nature Cure hospitals and then Corona tests were performed. As the results showed positive, Dayakar was immediately shifted to Gandhi hospital.
On Wednesday night at 10:30 PM, Dayakar breathed his last. The Telangana DGP Twitter handle has officially confirmed Dayakar’s death of Corona virus and as a precautionary, the cops have sent the family members of Dayakar into quarantine.
DGP Mahender Reddy added that the police department will support Dayakar’s family in all means.
