In the last 24 hours, India has reported 3,23,144 new positive Covid-19 cases and this is a slight dip compared to the previous day. Yet this is for the straight sixth day, India has posted over three lakh new cases and 2771 people have died. The daily death count is a fresh record and the total death tally is 197,894.
Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are the states that contributed big to the new infections with 48,700 cases and 33,351 respectively. 28,82,204 are the current active cases count while 2,51,827 people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries posted by India is 1,45,56,209.
Meanwhile a shocking detail got revealed that over 1,000 Covid deaths are ‘Missing’ in New Delhi according to civic records. The official death record by the Delhi government is 1,938 deaths and more 1150 deaths have not been enrolled under covid deaths.
Coming to Telangana, for the first time the state has posted over 10,000 cases. In the last 24 hours 10,122 new cases have been posted and 99,638 samples have been tested.
On the other hand, the vaccine drive is taking a hit. As of April 26th, 14,52,71,186 people have received the vaccine jab.
