President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, said that India supported his people when the country was hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. He added that now America will stand in support of India in handling the ongoing second wave of COVID-19. Biden made these statements after his conversation with Modi.
Two leaders had a phone call conversation last night. Biden’s administration already allowed the shipment of raw supplies required for the manufacturing of the vaccines. It is being heard that the conversation between Modi and Biden went up to 45 minutes. The government also promised India to lend oxygen and the related supplies.
“Today, I spoke with Prime Minister @narendramodi and pledged America’s full support to provide emergency assistance and resources in the fight against COVID-19. India was there for us, and we will be there for them,” tweeted Biden after his conversation with Modi.
Modi thanked Biden and his administration for supporting India in these tough times. Modi tweeted, “Had a fruitful conversation with @POTUS @JoeBiden today. We discussed the evolving COVID situation in both countries in detail. I thanked President Biden for the support being provided by the United States to India.”
“My discussion with @POTUS @JoeBiden also underscored the importance of smooth and efficient supply chains of vaccine raw materials and medicines. India-US healthcare partnership can address the global challenge of COVID-19,” added Modi.
