85-Yr-Old RSS Sevak Sacrificed His Bed & Life For Unknown 40-Yr-Old

In a heart-rending story, 85-year-old RSS swayamsevak Narayan Dabhadkar had given up his COVID-bed for another Covid patient as the man is the breadwinner of a family of wife and two children. 85-year-old Narayan Dabhadkar who was popularly known as Dabhadkar Kaka returned to his home and survived for 3 more days after which he left for heavenly abode. This story of ultimate sacrifice is reported in Nagpur.

Narayan Dabhadkar’s daughter got him a hospital bed in the city with difficulty. After several attempts, his daughter got him a bed at the Indira Gandhi hospital in Nagpur. The octogenarian was breathless while he was being taken to the hospital by his grandson-in-law. As the two waited for the admission formalities at the hospital to be completed, Dabhadkar Kaka saw a 40-yr-old woman crying with her children and begging hospital authorities for a Covid-bed to admit her husband who was in a critical condition.

Moved by her plight, Dabhadkar Kaka, without a second thought, had decided to sacrifice his bed and treatment to the man who is in his 40s and was in medical need. “I am 85 now, have lived my life, you should offer the bed to this man instead, his children need him,” Dabhadkar Kaka had said to his grandson-in-law and hospital authorities.

Later, Kaka made his grandson-in-law call his daughter to explain her the situation and tried to convince her. His daughter was initially shocked and reluctant to let go of the bed that was got with great difficulty. But Kaka made her hesitantly agree. Kaka had signed a consent form at the hospital saying he was forfeiting his bed for the young man and asked his grandson-in-law to take him back home. After fighting with the Coronavirus for three more days, Kaka had breathed his last at home. Sacrificing his bed and life for another patient so that person could live without any monetary benefit is moving many.
