#CowinRegistration: CoWIN Site Gets Crashed!

The central government of India has intensified the vaccination drive in the country by initiating the third phase. In the third phase, the people aged between 18 and 45 can register themselves for the vaccine. The registrations were open a while ago. The government started the registrations from 4 pm today but unfortunately, the servers of the Cowin app and website crashed. Aarogya Setu app is also sending error messages that the servers are busy.

As per the procedure, the individuals should register themselves first for the vaccine by entering their mobile number. Later, they will have to provide a photo identity proof after which the registration will be complete. In the next step, the people will have to choose the location where they want to get vaccinated. Half of those who are trying could not pass through the first step while those who reached the final stage are experiencing a shock.

The government of India clearly stated that people between 18 and 45 will get the vaccine from May 1st. Much to the shock of everyone, the government did not make the slots available for those eligible in this third phase. An error message on the website read, “Appointment for Age 18 to 44 is based on slots made available by the private vaccination centers as well as the respective state government. If slots are not currently available, it will be opened soon. Please check again in some time. We regret the inconvenience.”

Since the government did not allot the slots, no vaccination center is available for booking even though people reached the final stage of vaccine registration.
In other case, even though the slots are available, they are not available for those aged below 45. The error says that the minimum age required for getting vaccine is 45.

The following are some of the tweets from netizens as they wait to get registered.
